Spring Valley, NV (November 18, 2021) – Las Vegas Police say a deadly crash occurred in the Spring Valley area on Friday evening, November 12.
Around 10:00 p.m., the driver of a white 2013 Buick Lacrosse was traveling northbound on Rancho Drive (State Route 599) and approaching the Highway 95 off-ramp. Shortly thereafter, his vehicle entered the inside paved shoulder and struck a concrete barrier wall.
The vehicle then spun across the northbound travel lanes and entered the outside paved shoulder, where it collided with the guardrail, flipped, and hit the concrete barrier.
It’s unclear if another driver collided with the vehicle, or if the Buick driver struck debris in the road.
EMS units rushed to the scene and transported the driver of the Buick to Centennial Hills Hospital. The driver, identified only as an adult male, was pronounced dead at 10:45 p.m. It’s unclear if any other victims suffered injuries in the wreck.
The identification of the victim is pending next-of-kin notification by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation remains active at this time, and officers asked witnesses or any other person with information to contact them directly.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim. Our thoughts are with any victims who were injured in this accident. We hope for their full recovery.
Fatal Vehicle Accidents in Nevada
Motor vehicle accidents can have a debilitating impact on the lives of those involved. Regrettably, we see many people in our state left with severe injuries from crashes. The Nevada Department of Transportation reports that nearly 52,000 car crashes take place each year in the state of Nevada. And officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say that almost 44% of that total occurred in the greater Las Vegas area.
These auto accidents are an unfortunately common fact of life in Nevada, particularly on the bustling streets of Las Vegas. When it comes to fatal accidents and pedestrian incidents across the state, victims and families are particularly vulnerable in the aftermath.
After a car accident, those affected often cope with financial difficulties, long-term physical issues, and serious emotional trauma. Sadly, when victims succumb to their injuries, family members must deal with expensive medical and funerary costs. Thankfully, you and yours may have legal recourse in the aftermath of an injury accident.
