Bicycle Accidents in Sparks

Sparks, NV - Serious Bicycle Accident at E Lincoln Way & Howard Dr Under Investigation

The number of deaths caused by bicycle accidents increased nearly 40% in the last decade, according to the National Safety Council. Though the number of preventable crash injuries has decreased overall, they still remain high across the country and statewide in Nevada.

Moreover, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data note that one in five fatalities on American roadways occurred on a motorcycle or bicycle. And despite a general decline in Nevada vehicle accidents, traffic deaths are all too common.

Unfortunately, tragic consequences are more likely to befall victims of a bicycle accident. Bicyclists, like pedestrians, are at much higher risk for serious injury or death. Because they lack the protection of a passenger vehicle, they’re vulnerable to other motorists on the road. Crash victims may sustain TBIs, catastrophic organ damage, and more. Sadly, this can mean costly medical bills and job loss, or even fatal consequences for those injured.

Thankfully, those affected by these accidents can contact a Nevada injury lawyer for help. In some cases, a lawyer well-versed in Nevada state law can help victims and their families. Those affected may be able to seek a full, fair settlement from a personal injury or a wrongful death lawsuit.
