Las Vegas, NV (November 12, 2021) – On Friday morning, November 12, one person died while another sustained serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the northwest Las Vegas Valley.
Per initial information from officers at the scene, the fatal accident took place on the northern 215 beltway, just east of Sky Pointe Drive. The early reports indicate that a concrete truck was stalled in the right travel lane while the driver of a white Ford Fiesta was heading westbound in the same travel lane. The Fiesta driver crashed into the truck from behind.
The adult female driver of the Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. A passenger in the Fiesta was transported to UMC Trauma with serious but unspecified injuries. The driver of the truck suffered only minor injuries and stayed at the scene to cooperate with officers.
Officials do not believe impairment with the driver of the truck was involved, though an investigation is ongoing.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
Fatal Car Accidents in Las Vegas
Car accidents are a daily occurrence in Nevada. This is particularly true when it comes to the lively streets of Las Vegas. Victims and families are particularly vulnerable in the aftermath of fatal accidents.
The Nevada Department of Transportation reported that roughly 52,000 car crashes take place across the state in any given year. Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department added that almost 45% of that total occurred with the Las Vegas city limits.
After a serious car accident, victims typically face serious financial roadblocks, long-term physical issues, and serious emotional trauma.
Sadly, when victims succumb to their injuries, family members must deal with expensive medical and funerary costs in the aftermath.
