Las Vegas, NV (October 25, 2021) – Authorities said one person died in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on northbound I-15 near Stateline Monday evening, October 25.
Just before midnight, troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on the interstate near mile marker 3. Based on evidence at the scene, police reported that a gray Honda Accord had stopped in the far-left travel lane with the driver still inside. NHP Trooper Ashlee Wellman said the car stopped for unknown reasons. It was unclear if hazards lights were on prior to the crash.
A white Acura sedan then hit the stopped vehicle from behind, causing both vehicles to flip.
Medical personnel administered aid on scene, but EMS pronounced the adult male driver of the Accord dead at the scene, Wellman said.
The adult male driver of the Acura sustained moderate injuries requiring transport to an area hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, though troopers say impairment is suspected.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
