Elderly Woman Dies From Injuries Hours After Two-Car Accident at Flamingo Rd and Burnham Ave

Las Vegas, NV (September 29, 2021) – An 80-year-old woman died late Tuesday, September 28th following a car accident in Las Vegas.

Police reports show that a 2017 Forest River recreational vehicle was driving westbound through the intersection of Burnham Avenue and Flamingo Road when a 2012 Ford F150 pick-up truck ran a stoplight and crashed into the RV.

The two adult female occupants of the RV were transported by paramedics to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Several hours later, officials were notified that the passenger from the RV, an 80-year-old woman, passed away due to the severity of her injuries. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has not released her identity as family notification is pending.

The driver of the Ford remained at the scene. Police stated that he did not show signs of impairment.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family in hopes of a full recovery.

Intersection Accidents in Las Vegas

Intersections, and the driving laws that govern them, are essential for the efficient operation of our roadways. Without these laws, making it safely from one place to another would be almost impossible. Even though they are regulated by road signs and stop lights, intersections are still very dangerous when negligent drivers are involved.

Las Vegas has some of the biggest, busiest intersections in Nevada. Unfortunately, these intersections are some of the most common areas for serious car accidents. Nevada drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians are exposed to greater odds of being injured or killed when drivers do not obey traffic laws such as yielding the right-of-way. When drivers don’t follow the law they are considered negligent and they can be held liable for the injuries they cause.

Anyone injured in an intersection accident by someone else’s negligence might have a valid case for taking legal action. To determine if you have a legitimate personal injury case, speak with an experienced Nevada personal injury attorney who can advise you on the best course of action for your circumstances.
