Juan Gutierrez-Cardenas Identified in Fatal Truck Crash on I-15 at Valley of Fire

Las Vegas, NV (October 10, 2021) – Troopers with the Nevada Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal truck rollover accident that occurred Tuesday morning, October 5.

According to troopers, the crash occurred on northbound Interstate 15, just north of Mile Marker 77, near Valley of Fire.

The Clark County Coroner identified the driver as 26-year-old Juan Gutierrez-Cardenas. EMS units rushed to the scene but pronounced him dead before medics could transport him to an area medical center. The coroner ruled the cause of death as traumatic asphyxia.

Investigators are still piecing together the events causing the wreck and have not provided any other details. Police asked anyone with information to contact the Las Vegas Police Department.
